| Hwy 425 Mud Track General Rules |
| 1. Seat belts are required in ALL classes. Minimum "4" point SFI harness required in "Stock", "Super Stock", "Mod", and "Super Mod" classes for driver and rider. (5-point for Mod & Super-Mod). 2. Snell SA rated helmet REQUIRED IN ALL CLASSES. Full-face helmet and neck collar recommended. 3. A minimum of 2 1/2 lb. dry chemical ABC fire extinguisher with gauge in easy access of the driver and rider is required in ALL classes. 4. Fire retardant driver suits are not required, although, driver shirts and shoes are required.(Shoes should be buckled or laced). Boots are acceptable. 5. Battery and radiator must be securely fastened and is not allowed inside the driver's compartment or shielded from the driver. Minimum 3/8 bolts for hold down, no tarp straps allowed. 6. On/Off battery disconnect switch is required at the rear on passenger side 1 foot from the side and 1 foot from rear of truck bed. 7. Fire walls and floors are mandatory. Stock must have 4-point roll cage and be attached to frame. Super Stock, Modified and Super Modified mandatory 6-point roll cage attached to frame. Tubing must be a minimum of 1 1/2" diameter with at least .083 wall thickness. 6-point recommended in all classes. A minimum of 4 window bars mandatory to prevent windshield collapse. Windshield must be DOT glass,Lexan (3/16), or Speed glass only. Door bars required in all classes for driver and rider. Doors must be able to open and close. 8. All vehicles must have tow hooks front and rear. All vehicles must have front and rear bumpers not exceeding width of wheel opening. Bumpers must not have sharp edges and capped off. Must be safe. 9. All automatic transmissions must have a SEMA approved shield or blanket (except stock class). All standard transmissions must have SEMA approved blow proof bell housing except stock class. 10. Fuel tank cells allowed in all classes. All fuel lines must be isolated from driver's compartment. All tanks must have positive locking or screw caps. Fuel cells must be fully secured. 11. Fuel: Pump gasoline, Racing gasoline or Alcohol only-depending on class rules. POSITIVELY NO PROPYLENE OXIDE OR NITRO METHANE. 12. Throttle pedal must be positive acting with return loop or arm for return in case of stuck throttle. Three return springs are mandatory, one on pedal and two on carburetor. 13. Hydraulic brakes required on at least two wheels. Drive line brakes okay. Must be able to stop safely. 14. Drive shaft loops, front and rear, are required in all classes , only required on rear shaft in stock class. However, recommended on both. 6 in minimum and 12 in maximum from u-joint. 15. All vehicles must have forward and reverse gears and must be 4-wheel drive. Must be 1/2 ton or larger. 16. The driver: MUST be in the vehicle anytime the vehicle is running. 17. Classes limited to automotive engines only. Only 1 engine per vehicle. 18. NO one under 16 years of age in race vehicle. 19. Race trucks will be operated in a safe manner at all times. Track owner or official has the right to disqualify any truck at any time. 20. Drivers and pit crew will be disqualified for alcohol, drugs, or tampering of race vehicles. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED! 21. Any infractions or fighting, or un-sportsman like conduct will not be tolerated from driver, rider, or pit crew. Money, points and trophy will be forfeited and you will be banned from our track indefinitely. 22. All trucks must have visible numbers. 23. At any given time the track owner or official can have a visible check. 24. All race entries MUST be registered by end of Driver's Meeting. NO late 2nd class entries. TECH IN 1. The tech official has the right to disqualify any vehicle on the basis of its safety features at the tech inspection. 2. The tech official has the right to disqualify any vehicle that fails to meet technical rules of its class. 3. A vehicle can step up one time only. 4. Arguments or discourtesy to the tech official will result in disqualification. 5. Vehicles must be checked in by tech official by the time your class starts in order to race. 6. No prize money will be awarded until winner has passed tech inspection. IN THE PITS 1. NO drinking will be allowed in the staging area. 2. While your class is running, vehicle must remain in the staging area. If your vehicle is not staged it will be considered broke down and cannot run. 3. Drivers have 2 minutes to get to the starting line after opponent has staged. First truck has 3 minutes to stage after previous race. If a driver is unable to make it due to mechanical failure and has no losses he will have to take a loss or forfeit the race. 4. Any vehicle driving in an unsafe manner through the pit area will be disqualified. 5. Only drivers and their direct crew members are allowed in the staging area. 6. There will be absolutely NO fighting. Fighting will result in disqualification. 7. Anyone conducting themselves in an un-orderly fashion will be escorted off the premises. YOU WILL BE BANNED. 8. Crew members may have ATVs in the pit area only, not around the track. 9. TECH officials' decisions will be FINAL. ON THE TRACK 1. Two different drivers cannot enter the same vehicle twice in one class. The same driver cannot enter two different vehicles in the same class. 2. Only one driver and one rider per vehicle. 3. Once a vehicle crosses the starting line, there will be no refund of entry fees. 4. If a vehicle jumps the starting too early, the race will be started over. 5. If the vehicle jumps the starting line 2 times in a row, he will be moved back even with the opponent's rear bumper. 6. You must shut down vehicle down at the finish line. 7. Course boundaries will be marked. Anyone crossing the boundaries will be disqualified. This will be a track official's decision. 8. Vehicle may only place once per class. 9. There will be absolutely NO drinking while driving race vehicles. This will lead to disqualification. 10. Poor sportsmanship on the track such as deliberately hitting or spinning our another vehicle will result in disqualification. THE DECISION IS FINAL, NO ARGUMENT! 11. If you have been disqualified 2 times for poor sportsmanship on or off the track, you will be banned. 12. The race for 1st and 2nd: The vehicle with one loss will have lane choice over the vehicle with no losses. 13. The only time you can change lanes is when you are FULLY in front of the other vehicle. Squeezing out or changing lanes when not completely in front of the other vehicle WILL NOT necessarily be the other vehicles fault for spinning you out. 14. Track owners and officials reserve the right to disqualify or ban, at any time, vehicles that fail to obey the rules of the track. PROTEST RULES 1. Protest must be made during that class, not after that class is over. 2. Protest must be made to track owner or tech official. 3. Protest fees are as follows: Both parties will be required to put up the required protesting fees as listed below. Example: Engine tear down; Protesting truck will put up $650.00 and Protested truck will put up $650.00. If Protested truck is found legal, he will receive $600.00 from the Protesting truck and Tech official will receive $50.00. If the Protested truck is found illegal, the protesting truck will receive $600.00 from the Protested truck and Tech official will receive $50.00. If protested truck admits to being illegal before the tear down begins, no money will change hands and Tech official receives no pay. A. A visual or vacuum check or carburetor check will be $60.00. Tech receives no pay. B. Camshaft and lifter protest will be $150.00(Must pull intake and carburetor). Tech receives $50.00 of protest fee. C. P&G check will be $150.00 $100.00 will go the purchase of the P&G machine and $50.00 to the Tech. D. Engine tear down protest fee will be $650.00. Tear down will be done by driver and Tech officials. Heads, oil pans, pistons, and rods, etc., may be removed. Truck owner or driver of protesting truck may be present. Decision of Tech official is FINAL. E. Unless protest is made BEFORE the race starts- a winner cannot protest a loser. |
