Hwy 425 Mud Track Class Rules & Regulations

STOCK CLASS
1. Original body and frame with no modifications other than fender cutouts. No excessive gutting or cutting
allowed. Heaters, gas tanks, dash, etc. may be removed. Must have OEM suspension for model of vehicle.
Excessive modifications moves to SUPER CLASS. MUST have 4 point roll cage attached to the frame with at
least 4 window bars. 6 point roll cage recommended. 4 point seat belt required for driver and rider. Door bars
required for driver and rider. Doors must be able to open and close.
2. TRUCKS must have all factory sheet metal; tailgates must be removed.
3. NO POWERGLIDES. Transmission must be the same as offered by manufacturer. Can have shifters, and
stall converters are okay. MAY use manual valve bodies.
4. Tires-NO cutting or grooving tires. MUST have DOT#. Maximum tire size CO-OP 7.50x16, P78-16 Buckshot,
or 33x12.50-16.
5. RADIATOR must be stock location. Electric fans allowed. No electric water pumps allowed.
6. CAN have auxiliary battery and fuel cell. MUST not be in cab.
7. ENGINES- 1/2 ton truck small block cubic inch limit 373. 3/4 or 1 ton truck cubic inch limit 477. Max bore 70
thousandths. Small and mid-size trucks limited to six cylinder engines.
A. Engine must be offered by manufacturer. OEM parts(Stock crank and rods, no after market). Engine is to
be in stock location with stock mounts. NO stroking or de-stroking. PISTONS-can use after market flat or
dish, NO dome or pop-up pistons. BLOCK-No after market, OEM only. HEADS- Any OEM Production cast
iron head with all stock type components. No stud girdles allowed. Casting numbers must be present in heads
for identification. NO porting, polishing, or port matching. NO after-market heads. ROCKER ARMS- roller tip
rockers or stock type only. Must maintain stock ratio. INTAKES-NO porting polishing, or port matching. CAN
use cast iron or dual plane 180 degrees aluminum intakes only. No Torque Link intakes allowed. (You may use
double roller timing chains, high volume oil pumps, racing oil pan and screens. CAN also use upgraded
fasteners.)RODS-OEM/Stock Rods and Rod Lengths Only, (No Scat, Eagle or Any Other After market
Rods.)Stock Rod Lengths only-Measured Center-to-center+/-.025. Rods Lengths Must Match Specific Block.
(Ex. Chevy 327 & 350=5.700", Chevy 400=5.565", Chevy 396,402,427, & 454=6.135";Ford 302=5.090", Ford
351-C=5.780", Ford 351-W=5.959", Ford 351-M=6.580", Ford FE 390=6.488", Ford 360=6.488", Ford
400=6.580", Ford 460=6.605", Chrysler 318, 340, & 360= 6.123", Chrysler 383 & 400=6.358", Chrysler 440=
6.770"). Aftermarket Rod Bolts Are Allowed.
8. Small blocks up to 373 CID must pull 17", Mid-range and Big blocks must pull 19" of vacuum @ 1000 RPM. NO
vacuum devices allowed. From intake or carburetor only.
9. SMALL base carburetors only. May be double pumper, must have choke horn. NO dominator style allowed.
NO fuel injection.
10. Camshaft and lifters must be hydraulic flat tappett. No roller or ceramic lifters allowed.
11. ANY after market ignition and wires are okay. NO after market devices like retards or advances allowed.
12. HEADERS allowed up or down only. No angle or sideway headers allowed, this is for safety reasons.
13. GASOLINE or racing fuel only. NO alcohol or nitrous or ether allowed.
14. FUNCTIONAL front and rear bumpers with tow hooks. NO sharp edges allowed. Bumpers are not to be wider
than outside of tires and capped off.
15. NO ladder bars or traction devices. OEM suspension only. Only over the leaf devices allowed. Only two
shocks allowed on front suspension per wheel and one per wheel on rear axle.
16. MUST meet all safety rules and be able to stop safely. SEE GENERAL RULES
SUPER STOCK CLASS
1. 1/2 ton truck or larger with original body and frame with no modifications other than fender cutouts, NO
excessive gutting allowed. Heaters, gas tanks, dash, etc. may be removed. MUST have OEM
suspension for model of vehicle, but may use 3/4 ton or larger suspension. Excessive body modifications
moves to SUPER CLASS. Can remove dash, factory firewall MANDATORY. Must have a 6-point roll cage
attached to the frame with at least 4 window bars. 4-point seatbelt for driver and rider. Door bars are required
for driver and rider. Doors must be able to open and close.
2. TRUCKS must have all factory sheet metal; tailgates must be removed.
3. TRANSMISSION must be offered by manufacturer. SHIFTERS AND STALLS allowed. Powerglides are okay.
NO transbrakes or electric transmission controls.
4. NO cutting or grooving tires. MUST have DOT#.
5. RADIATORS, BATTERIES, and fuel cell may be relocated. MUST be outside of cab. MAY use electric fans and
electric water pumps.
6. ENGINES must be in 1/2 ton or larger truck. Small blocks can be stroked or de-stroked. BIG blocks CANNOT
be stroked or de-stroked.
A. Engine type must be offered by manufacturer. Small blocks limit 412 CID, Big block limited to 477 CID.
Engine has to be in stock location, NO mid-plates or engine plates allowed.
B. Any cast iron block(including after market block) is OK.
C. Any OEM production cast iron heads allowed, with any modifications. NO after market or aluminum heads
allowed. (Ex. No Dart, Brodix, World Product, Mopar Performance, Bowtie, SVO etc.) Roller rockers and guide
plates allowed. Stud girdles allowed. Casting numbers must be in heads for identification.
D. Camshaft and lifters must be hydraulic flat tappett. NO hydraulic roller lifters allowed.
E. Any aftermarket intake allowed or OEM cast iron intakes.
F. ALL engines must pull at least 14" of vacuum at 1000 RPM. NO vacuum devices. From intake or carburetor
only.
G. ANY single small base carburetor allowed. MAY be double-pumper. NO dominator style.
H. ANY after market ignition or wires allowed. NO after market Retards or advances allowed.
I. NO ladder bars or traction devices. OEM suspension only. ALL top bars or over the leaf are allowed. Only two
shocks allowed per wheel on front suspension and one per wheel on rear axle.
J. Must be able to stop safely.
7. Headers allowed up or down. No angle or sideway headers allowed, this is for safety reasons.
8. Gasoline, racing fuel or alcohol only. NO fuel injection, nitrous, or ether allowed. AUTOMATIC
DISQUALIFICATION!
9. TRUCKS must meet all safety rules and be able to stop safely-SEE GENERAL RULES
MODIFIED CLASS
1. 1/2 ton truck or larger with original body and frame with no modifications other than fender cutouts, no
excessive gutting allowed. Cannot shorten or lengthen frame. Front-end swaps allowed. Excessive
modifications moves to SUPER CLASS. May remove heaters, gas tanks, dash, etc., Factory firewall
MANDATORY. Must have 6 point roll cage attached to frame with at least 4 window bars and 5 point seat belt
for driver and passenger. Door bars required for driver and rider. Doors must be able to open and close.
2. TRUCKS must have all factory sheet metal, tailgates must be removed.
3. ANY type transmission allowed. Transbrakes are OK.
4. ENGINES must be offered by manufacturer. 1/2 ton or larger vehicle. Limit of 516 CID. CAN use mid plates or
engine plates, but engine is to remain in STOCK location. ANY cast iron after market block allowed or OEM
cast iron block.
5. CAN use any cast iron head, including after market heads. No aluminum heads allowed.
6. ANY single four barrel carburetor allowed. ANY intake allowed. NO sheet metal or tunnel ram types allowed.
7. RADIATORS may be relocated. Alternators and water pumps optional.
8. ANY type camshaft and valve train allowed.
9. NO cutting or grooving tires. MUST have DOT#.
10. GASOLINE, racing fuel or alcohol allowed. NO fuel injection, nitrous, or ether allowed.
11. NO four link or Z links allowed. OEM style suspension (suspension and drive trains swaps allowed). Ladder
bars and traction devices are OK.
12. TRUCK must meet all safety rules and be able to stop safely-SEE GENERAL RULES
SUPER MODIFIED CLASS
1. MUST be only automotive type engine and only one engine per truck. MUST have 6 point roll cage attached to
frame with at least 4 window bars. 5 point seat belts are required for driver and passenger. Door bars are
required for driver and rider. Doors must be able to open and close.
2. ANY single carburetor. Nitrous allowed. NO fuel injection or blowers allowed.
3. MUST have a production type body(ie. Automobile appearance with auto type windshield, cab. Modifications
are OK. May alter wheel base. MUST have some type of fenders or sheet metal on all four wheels. NO rear
engines allowed.
4. VEHICLE must be safety approved by TECH.
5. ANY type tires, except paddle or scupper tires.
6. NO tube frame vehicles.
7. Vehicle must meet all safety rules and be able to stop safely-SEE GENERAL RULES
